Instructions for shipping suspension or engine components

1. Fill out the downloadable service order form. If you would like to provide more information, please use the back side of the form. The more information that you provide, the better the job will turn out.
   
   
2. Place the service form where it can be easily found in the shipping container.
   
   
3. REMOVE the air bleeders form the fork caps and replace with the original screws and o-rings. When the forks shift in the container during shipment, the bleeders will be activated and fork fluid will leak into the container. Sometimes the bleeders become damaged and all of the fluid drains into the shipping container.
   
   
4. Please DO NOT tape the service order form to the forks or shock. The tape is very difficult to remove and additional labor fees will apply.
   
   
5. Forks can be shipped in a hard sided plastic gun/rifle case that can be purchased at Walmart for $15. Put a thin layer of bubble wrap around the forks, place them on the foam case liner, and close the lid. Tape all of the latches. Please do not remove the foam lining. DO NOT include the shock in the same case as the forks. The additional weight will destroy the case. Put a strip of duct tape on the case and write on it in large letters “NO FIREARMS INSIDE”. Some UPS stores say that they can not ship gun cases but UPS delivers and picks up gun cases here everyday. Ask to talk to a manager if you have a problem.
   
   
6. The shock can be shipped in a plastic hard sided pistol case available at Walmart for $9 or it can be bubble wrapped and shipped in a cardboard box.
   
   
7. Please DO NOT USE PLASTIC PEANUTS. The weight of the suspension components turns them into dust and it makes a huge mess when un-packed.
   
   
8. Cylinders and heads should be packaged in bubble wrap and put into a cardboard box.
   
   
9. Package carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.) will NOT pay insurance claims on damaged shipments that are improperly packaged.
   
   
10. If you don’t want to deal with it, take it to a packaging/shipping business but they are very expensive.
    
    
11. Suggested insurance amounts. (packages do get lost, especially when they’re not insured) WP Forks $1700, WP shock $1100, KTM 300 cylinder $1000, KTM 300 head $100
