Standard Fork Re-Valve

$399 – ALL models with open chamber fork

Standard re-valve is NOT AVAILABLE for closed chamber bladder forks (’07 SX ’08 – ’13 XC, SX)

The WP open chamber fork has very stiff high speed compression valving and incorrect spring rates for many riders. This creates harsh and deflective (bouncing off the chosen line) action when riding on the rocks, roots, and square edged bumps, insufficient bottoming resistance on the big hits, vague steering and tracking, head shake, and overall instability. After reviewing your service order form and consulting with you, the internal damping circuits will be re-designed, spring rates will be changed, and oil levels adjusted to match your weight, skill level, age, riding style, (sitting vs standing) and type of terrain encountered. When matched with a Slavens shock re-valve, your bike will have precise steering, will be more comfortable, confidence inspiring, safer, and will track straight in all conditions.

‘Re-valve includes:

  • Valving shims
  • Cartridge fork fluid
  • Clean and inspect all parts
  • Labor
  • 60 day warranty
  • Unlimited phone support
  • Re-work if needed

Does not include springs, seals, bushings, or other worn/damaged parts.

3 – 4 day turnaround time with an appointment.

Shock Sox or Seal Savers are recommended for all models, applications, and conditions.

The Next Level Fork Re-Valve

$499 – ALL models with open chamber fork
Highly recommended for all 2007 -2013 models.

The Next Level is for those that want the best. Because of time and expense constraints this service has only been offered to a few customers in the past, but now CNC water jet machining technology makes this affordable to the masses. The Next Level Re-Valve, with its Slavens designed High Flow Passive Valve Pistons, makes the fork action much more compliant and responsive when riding on rocks and roots yet increases firmness for G-outs and big hits.

(Add $70 to the re-valve price to include SKF oil seals)

The Next Level Re-Valve includes everything that is in the Standard Fork Re-Valve plus:

  • Next Level High Flow Passive Valve Pistons
  • Additional hand machining to valving parts

Does not include springs, seals, bushings, or other worn/damaged parts.

3 – 4 day turnaround time with an appointment

Shock Sox or Seal Savers are recommended for all models, applications, and conditions.

The Next Level Fork Re-valve and Pressure Balance System (PBS)

$639 ’07 SX ’08 – ’13 XC, SX (closed chamber bladder forks only)

Besides the usual harshness, deflection, and spring rate issues, the WP closed chamber bladder fork has a pressure build-up issue that is very labor intensive to correct. This service is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for ALL applications, especially when competing in events that require non-stop riding for 2-3 hour periods. Under these conditions increased stiffness and deflection will be experienced from pressure build-up in the inner cartridge and outer chamber and in extreme cases and conditions the fork becomes rigid and un-rideable. Manual bleeding of the air from the outer chamber does not cure the problem.

This service is only available at Slavens Racing. Developed by Jeff Slavens and Kelvin Thomas.

This service includes everything that is in the Standard Re-Valve plus:

  • Next Level High Flow Passive Valve Pistons
  • Proprietary cartridge, stanchion tube, and HL ring machining to reduce pressure balance issues
  • SKF fork seals (rebuild included)
  • Vacuum bleed cartridge with WP/KTM vacuum bleeding machine.

Does not include springs, bushings, or other worn/damaged parts.

3 – 4 day turnaround time with an appointment

Shock Sox or Seal Savers recommended for all models, applications, and conditions.

Fork Seal Change & Re-build

$265 – All models (except below)
 w/open chamber
$295 – ’07 SX & ’08 thru ’13 XC, SX w/closed chamber

Our rebuilds go far beyond what you get at most dealerships or suspension shops where they just throw in a set of seals. A correct rebuild involves a very thorough cleaning of all internals (the shim stacks, valving pistons and other parts are often full of sludge), inspection, and repair/replacement of all internal wear items. (bushings, rebound check valve shims, o-rings, stuck rebound needles, etc.) Closed cartridge forks are vacuum bled with our WP/KTM vacuum bleeding machine.

Re-build price includes:

  • SKF Oil Seals
  • Disassemble
  • Clean, inspect, repair, service all internals
  • Polish fork tubes & damper rods
  • Labor
  • Replace worn parts
  • Re-assemble w/quality cartridge fluid
  • Vacuum bleed cartridge with WP/KTM vacuum bleeding machine.
  • Update valving if previously re-valved by Slavens Racing (valving parts not included)
  • 60 day warranty (Shock Sox or Seal Savers must be installed)

Does not include bushings or other worn/damaged parts.

3 – 4 day turnaround time with an appointment

Shock Sox or Seal Savers are recommended for all models, applications, and conditions.

Standard Shock Re-Valve

$299 – ALL PDS MODELS ’98-’13

The WP shock suffers from harsh high speed compression valving, insufficient rebound valving and soft spring rates. This creates poor straight line stability and cornering, kicking, low ride height, and insufficient bottoming resistance. The spring rate needs to be adjusted for most riders and the internal valving settings should be corrected. After reviewing your service order form and consulting with you, the internal damping circuits will be re-designed and spring rates will be changed to match your weight, skill level, age, riding style, (sitting vs standing) and type of terrain encountered.

Note: Progressive rate shock springs are used for all off-road applications (with PDS linkless system) and ALL shocks are bled with a WP Factory vacuum/pressure bleeding machine.

(Add $35 – $60 to the re-valve price to include oil seals)

Standard Re-valve includes:

  • Valving parts
  • Nitrogen
  • Shock fluid
  • labor
  • Bleed fluid with WP Factory vacuum/pressure bleeding machine
  • 60 day warranty
  • Re-work if needed
  • Unlimited phone support

Does not include springs, seals, or bushings.

3 – 4 day turnaround time with an appointment

Next Level Shock Re-valve

$439 – ALL PDS models ’06-’12 & all linkage models ’11-’13

The Next Level shock re-valve gives additional plushness and increased bottoming resistance. Overall it has a firmer feel than our standard re-valve but is actually more responsive and more plush on the small trail trash , rocks, and roots yet has considerably more bottoming resistance and rebound control that absorbs whoops and G-outs. This is accomplished by installing our proprietary anti-bottoming needle (PDS models) and modifications to the valving pistons and Compression Control (DCC) adjuster.

Note: ’11 & ’12 linkage models suffer from insufficient low-speed compression valving. This allows the rear suspension to compress too much (squat) and creates vague steering. Our Next Level valving corrects this and improves steering precision and overall stability. We do not recommend aftermarket linkage.

(Add $35 – $60 to the re-valve price to include oil seals)

Next Level shock re-valve includes everything that comes with the standard re-valve plus:

  • KT needle for increased bottoming resistance
  • Valving piston mods for increased plushness
  • Dual Compression Control (DCC) mods for increased plushness
  • Hand made rebound shims for improved response (PDS)

Does not include springs, seals, or bushings.

3 – 4 day turnaround time with an appointment

Shock Re-Build

$225 to $275 – ALL PDS MODELS ’98 – ’13 & ALL linkage models ’11-’13

WP PDS shocks are the most complicated brand to rebuild correctly. Most shops overlook many wear areas that effect maximum performance and they leave the shock fluid full of air by attempting to bleed the system without proper equipment. This makes the damping performance inconsistent and quick to fade. At Slavens Racing ALL shocks are bled with a WP/KTM vacuum/pressure bleeding machine to insure correct and consistent performance.

Rebuild includes:

  • Disassemble
  • Shaft oil seal or sealhead assembly (sealhead, bushing, oil & dust seal)
  • Shock fluid
  • Nitrogen
  • Clean & inspect all parts
  • Replace other worn parts (parts not included)
  • Re-assemble & re-charge with nitrogen
  • Bleed fluid with WP/KTM vacuum/pressure bleeding machine

3 – 4 day turnaround time with an appointment

Fork or Shock Height/Travel Reduction

Please call or email info@slavensracing.com for pricing

Many of today’s motorcycles are tall for the average rider and can be overwhelming for riders with inseams of 30 inches or less. Reducing the ride height 1 to 2 inches makes it much easier to navigate technical sections, reduces low speed tip-overs, and greatly increases rider confidence. The travel reduction modification involves the installation of travel limiting spacers, (so that the fork or shock shaft extends to a reduced position) installing shorter fork springs (except ’07 SX,SXF and ’08-’13 SX, SXF, XC), and re-valving to match the reduced travel and your riding conditions.

The travel reduction can be reversed back to full travel for approximately half of the original cost. Travel reduction is recommended for trail riding, enduros and motard. It is NOT offered or recommended for motocross or high speed desert applications.
